The British Skeet Shooting Association (BSSA) was originally formed in 1985, to represent the interests of UK members of the NSSA.

The BSSA was constitutionally reformed with a committee in August 2001. It had previously been run by Donya and Charlie Lucas. It is now shot at 8 grounds in the UK with membership standing at around 220.

Organised in 1946, the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) was formed as the official governing body for this remarkable sport.

As a non-profit making organisation, the NSSA is owned and operated by and for its members. It is the largest organisation of its kind in the United States, with over 2 million shooters participating in skeet shooting activities each year at one of our more than 1,000 affiliated shooting facilities.

The NSSA hosts for its members each year the Mini World and World Skeet Championships in October of each year just outside the city limits of San Antonio, Texas, USA. This Championship is the largest skeet championship in the world attracting over 1000 entrants from all over the world.

Individual membership of the BSSA is free and extends to all UK NSSA members residing in the UK, along with American military NSSA members visiting or residing in the UK.
