BSSA Iron Man 2011.

Dave Morgan comprehensively won the BSSA Iron Man 2011 with an uncontested 399 ex 400 over the weekend of the 19th & 20th of March at Lakenheath Clay Target Centre.

Dave shot a 199 on the first day and a 200 hundred straight on the last day that could only be equalled by Simon Hill who also shot a 199 on day one.

Nick Marsden shot 198 on day one and also shot 200 straight on the second day taking the runner up place with a 398.

Day one produced a fine shoot off on 199's for the "East" that Dave Morgan won with Simon Hill runner up and Paul Stubbs taking his class.

Day two saw a shoot off for the 200's for the "West" that Dave Morgan won after a thrilling shoot off with Nick Marsden.

Both shooters at the very top of there game and it was impossible to determine who would be the victor!

AA class was won by Micky Dore on 396, A class was won by Paul Stubbs on 396, B class was won by Val Fraser on 394 who also took "Vets", C class was won by Nigel young on 378, D class by Sean King on 372 and E class was won by Heather Moate on 330. The "Lady Champion" was Sara Chambers on 387 and Junior Champion was David Godwin on 383.

I think that if the 200's had gone in on the first day, my 400 straight record would have been equalled twice maybe three times given the level of skeet shooting displayed??????

All in all the weather was very kind and the atmosphere brilliant. Lets hope the weather is as kind at the UK Open in May?
